The Kokkeler Family Website

It is with heart felt admiration and love that The Kokkeler Family History
is dedicated to the ever lasting memory of my great-grandparents,
Gerrit Jan Kokkeler and Euphemia Lammers.
Without their love, perseverance and example, we would not be here today.
May our family history continue for generations to come.

It is my hope that the information gathered in this book will be useful to others who are interested in our family history. This could be a possible beginning. In Marijo’s memory my only wish is that this book may bring enjoyment to the members of the Kokkeler, Lammers, Balog and Kozilek families.

When you look up the word "genealogy" in the dictionary, this is what the definition says:  A recorded history of the descent of a person or family from an ancestor or ancestors.

This is and always has been my purpose, to gather and record family information.  I'm not here to judge or be nosey, I merely want to record our family history for our future generations.   I am sure our great grandparents never dreamed one of their great grandchildren would be interested in their lives and marvel at the extreme courage it took for them to leave their homeland to come to a new country.  To start out with little or nothing, living in terrible conditions until a home could be built. To leave their families and friends, never to see them again.  Being unable to speak the language.  To endure the harsh winters and the unpredictable summers.  They endured so much, I just want to record it for posterity.  I hope you would consider and trust me to be your family historian.
